The Clark County Courthouse was evacuated following a bomb threat Thursday afternoon as other news outlets reported threats at county courthouses around the state. A man called the Superior Court Clerk’s office around 3:20 p.m. and stated that there were explosive devices in the courthouse, set to go off in 20 minutes. “The guy said, ‘This is not a bomb threat, this is a bomb promise,’” said Sgt. Shane Gardner with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.At 3:38 p.m., deputies stationed at the courthouse at 1200 Franklin St. pulled the fire alarm to quickly evacuate the building, Gardner said. No device was located.After an inspection of the courthouse for devices and after waiting past the deadline given by the caller, the courthouse was reopened. There is no suspect information at this time.KING5 in Seattle reported there were bomb threats at Benton, Adams, Douglas, Chelan and Thurston county courthouses.
